At Postern a Graphic Designer is responsible for conceptualization and design of graphic applications across print and digital marketing and advertising such as brand identity, collateral material, digital graphics for websites and social media from concept to completion. They work collaboratively with our internal team and represent the company and our work in front of clients.
Postern has a hybrid office environment (3 days in the Frederick, Maryland based office and 2 days remote) because we meet our clients where they are. We commit to understanding their industry, business, audience, and goals to strategically and creatively connect them with their customers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop marketing and advertising initiatives that meet our clients business objectives and advance their brand using all necessary tools (print and digital)
- Works closely with and report to the Art Director on various project briefs and collaborative sessions held with clients and other team members
- Serve as a visual translator of complex technical information in graphic design
- Manage production and delivery of materials by working closely with internal and external resources (other creatives, clients, and vendors, etc.)
- Conduct asset audits to assess the effectiveness of each tactic and provide reporting
- Stay atop trends and industry best practices to bridge insights, strategy, and creativity into one output
- Remain current on audience preferences and proactively suggest new initiatives to ensure designs are optimized for success
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Principal, including meeting with clients, traveling, assisting with new business presentations and internal initiatives
- Develop and nurture strong client relationships and deliver an exceptional client experience
- Promote the visibility of Postern in the region through local public relations
Essential Job Requirements:
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Business Suite
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to effectively articulate ideas and present ideas to groups internally and externally
- Demonstrate the ability to participate and contribute to a space for creativity, ideation, collaboration, fun, and learning
- Is flexible on changing workloads
- Ability to independently handle multiple, simultaneous, varied assignments and meet tight deadlines, while providing a consistent level of quality and accuracy
- Takes initiative, anticipates problems, and develops and presents well-researched and thought-out solutions
- Comfort level in discussing the company’s value and their value with clients
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

This position is full-time. Our office is a hybrid workplace in which we work 3 days in the office at our Frederick, Maryland location and 2 days remotely. However, during the first 6 month onboarding phase full-time in the office is required.
