Communication Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to create copy for a variety of audiences, brands, and industries and present underlying strategic thinking to clients

  • Works closely with and reports to the Creative Director on various copy and messaging briefs and collaborative sessions

  • Serve as a textual translator of complex technical information for print and online

  • Develop taglines, headlines, short and long-format copy for collateral, websites, advertisements, and social media

  • Stay atop marketing and advertising trends and industry best practices to bridge insights, strategy, and creativity into one output

  • Research and develop new growth strategies that are integrated with the client’s goals and priorities and advise on budgetary, technical, and creative issues that arise

  • Manage production and delivery of materials by working closely with internal and external resources (other creatives and vendors, etc.)

  • Compose press releases and distribute to media outlets

  • Generate media coverage for clients

  • Manage and build media lists

  • Remain current on audience preferences and proactively suggest new campaigns

  • Versed in emerging digital content technologies, platforms and best practices and provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate

  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Principal, including meeting with clients, traveling, assisting with new business presentations and internal initiatives

  • Develop and nurture strong client relationships and deliver an exceptional client experience

  • Promote the visibility of Postern in the region through local public relations

  • Be part of a space for creativity, ideation, collaboration, fun, and learning

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant copywriting and marketing experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism or Public Relations or equivalent work experience

  • Strong copywriting, copyediting, and proofing skills

  • Solid understanding and implementation of SEO preferred

  • Familiarity with commonly used style guides

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with our team

  • Excitement for growth, embracing new opportunities to tell stories, and being hands-on with the client and creative team

  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and creatively and provide measurable solutions

  • Attend and network at industry, community and business events to build relationships

  • Ability to complete multiple projects on schedule and under budget
